Interesting Web Links

Page history last edited by Elisse G 11 years, 7 months ago

I will be listing websites that I think are useful here.  Some will be ones we've looked at in class, others will be ones that might help you with coursework, and others might just be interesting.  Please let me know if you know of other sites that you think should go on my list.

Useful Websites:

Wolfram Alpha    This site allows you to calculate more than you ever thought you would need to.  It can do almost all of the calculus calculations we will do this year; even showing the steps!

Geogebra     We will be using Geogebra in class.  It is free software that will graph and do much more.  I would recommend that you have it on your home computer.  You can use it on any computer with a webstart that doesn't require you download the software to the computer you're using.

Math Widgets at Wolfram Alpha  These are cool little widgets to do particular kinds of math problems.  Here are some that I've found that might be useful (Let me know if you find any others to share!):

Applets to Look at Topics We're Studying

Secants to Tangents:  This is the Geogebra applet that we worked with in the Computer Lab.

Epsilon-Delta Definition of Limits  This is an applet to look at a topic that is important in more advanced Calculus classes.

Numeric Integration Visualization  Use this applet on December 14 with the worksheet from Mike May.

Calculus Applets  This is where I got the applets for Volumes of Known Cross Section and Volumes of Solids of Revolution.  There are lots of good applets here!

Building Derivatives     Use this with Every Good Function is Locally Linear

Two hands clapping
