Math Team 2016-17

NEWS FLASH:  After the first meet of the year, Newton North Tigers are in first place in the GBML.   Here are the standings.

 

The Newton North Math Team is open to all students who are interested in solving challenging math problems in a timed setting.  We work together to develop our skills and knowledge during weekly practices, every Wednesday after school from 3 PM to 4 PM, except for weeks that we are off at a competition (see schedule below).  Teams are chosen separately for each meet, based on students' ability to solve the problems needed in the upcoming contest.  Students are welcome to join at any point in the year.

The Newton North Math Team competes in the Greater Boston Math League.

Meet Dates for this year are:

Meet 1 - October 13, 2016

THE USE OF CALCULATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN ANY ROUND INCLUDING THE TEAM ROUND.

Individual rounds are 10 minutes in duration. The team round is twelve minutes in duration.

Statistical concepts could appear in any round. Matrix format could appear in any round.
